East Belfast:
Belmont & Strandtown
Where
is Belmont ? Belmont village is
located in the east side of Belfast
City, Northern Ireland. The area is also known locally as
Strandtown. The main shopping precinct of the village, runs for the most part
along the Belmont Road and the Holywood Road.
Belmont is
situated close to Ballyhackamore, the Holywood Arches
(previously called Newbridge) and Connswater, East Belfast.
Although locally referred to as 'the village', it
was swallowed up by Belfast City many decades ago. It is now part of a thriving city,
close to all amenities and only 5 minutes travel from Belfast
City Centre.
Local
Life
At the heart of most of Northern Ireland's
villages is the church and the Belmont / Strandtown area of
Belfast is no different. Sitting in its heart is the
Christian Fellowship Church (known as CFC) which is pictured
on the left..
Belmont boasts a bustling shopping precinct,
with local traders offering shoppers that extra personal
touch. Why not visit the Belmont Village Virtual High Street,
