Northern Ireland Water's Liquidity
Northern Ireland Water's £7 Million
Shortfall
In yet another crisis facing Northern Ireland Water its Acting CEO Chris Mellor has indicated that Northern Ireland Water is facing a £7 million shortfall.
Chris Mellor comments came as he outlined problems facing the company to the Assembly's Regional Development Committee. He said that an error in thousands of business customers' bills should have been identified earlier.
Editorial
The Northern Ireland Water service has caused detriment yet again to customers who face an absolute monopoly.
Its executives talk about returning monies to businesses over-charged as though they are doing something
righteous rather than returning monies to businesses they had no legal right to obtain.
With the nation dreading the threat of Water Charges the Water Service claims they are to approach these solutions based on 'fairness' towards customers and taxpayers and that 'Importantly' this issue will have no impact on households. They fail to state that the reason for this, is only that households do not yet pay bills directly but what if this had
occurred after Water Charging had been introduced?
As if, small business hadn't enough to worry about, they now have to worry about the Water Service attempting to bill, them for under-charging. It would appear that in a difficult market, that businessmen will now have to factor in, the incompetence of the Water Service for Northern Ireland.
