Sitting in the heart of East Belfast is a piece of National Heritage unseen by virtually all of Belfast.  To the shame of the Northern Ireland Assembly the Ormiston House Estate has been hidden behind corrugated iron sheeting, surrounded by razor wire and guarded by 24 hour security to prohibit public access. As users can observe from Belfast Photos of Outside Ormiston House, the property is a stunning piece of heritage, a grade B listed building, which sits boarded up and for the most part appears un-kept.

In this photo album you can see the damage to the inside of what was once a substantial and impressive property, occupied by the founder of the world famous shipyard Harland & Wolff, Edward Harland.

 Missing from this stately home are fireplaces, floor boards and banisters, with some ceilings being held up by scaffolding and plaster missing from the walls
