News: Is East Belfast Seat, A Done Deal?
The DUP appear to
think so!
Everyone in life aspires to be confident, but it is unusual for a political party to appear so confident that they elect an MLA to the Northern Ireland Assembly without the public having
gone to the polls, yet according to the DUP website and the
Google search results, Sammy Douglas has been returned as an MLA for East Belfast.
Of course, its a mistake and its always wise to plan ahead, but its not wise to count your chickens or in this case your votes, before they're even cast.
With Lord Wallace Brown giving up re-election to the East Belfast seat on the basis of bringing double-jobbing to an end, we asked the DUP to confirm the jobs / positions their new
candidate Sammy Douglas held and whether he would stand down from his other jobs /
commitments if elected, to concentrate on his constituents.
To date the DUP has failed to respond to Simply Belfast!
